Pichai Sundararajan was born on June 10, 1972, to Raghunath Pichai, an electrical engineer, and Lakshmi, a stenographer in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Pichai and his family lived in a small apartment in Ashok Nagar, as a middle-class family of four. Pichai attended Jawahar Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, and completed Class XII from Vana Vani School at IIT Madras. Pichai earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in metallurgical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He went on to acquire a M.S. degree from Stanford University in materials science and engineering, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. At the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, prestigious distinctions awarded to students demonstrating exceptional academic performance and leadership.

Sundar Pichai Salary and Career:

Before becoming the Google CEO, Pichai was a Product Chief at Google. He started his journey with Applied Materials, a semiconductor equipment company based in California. He worked there as a product manager. After that, he joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant, where he worked with clients in the technology and healthcare industries. He joined Google way back in 2004, as a product manager, working on Google’s search toolbar and web browser. When Google launched its web browser, Chrome in 2008, Sundar Pichai was made the project manager for Chrome. His management of the project earned him recognition within the company.
